The 2019 Mazda CX-9 has a more powerful engine than the 2019 Honda Pilot. According to the Riverside area Mazda dealer, the CX-9 is powered by a 2.5-liter four-cylinder powerplant that generates 250 hp and 310 lb-ft of torque. With regular gasoline, the CX-9 makes 227 horsepower. The 2019 Honda Pilot employs a 3.5-liter V6 that develops 280 horsepower and 262 lb-ft of torque. While the Pilot produces more horsepower than the CX-9, it has less torque, which means the CX-9 sends more power to the wheels than the Pilot.

Towing If you’re looking for towing power, the CX-9 is a better choice than the Pilot. The CX-9 can tow up to 3,500 pounds. The Pilot has less than half the towing capacity of the CX-9, with a maximum towing capacity of only 1,500 pounds. Features The 2019 Mazda CX-9 gives buyers more for the money. The CX-9 comes standard with a number of features that aren’t included with the 2019 Honda Pilot, including a leather-wrapped steering wheel, tri-zone climate control, rear cross-traffic alert and a blind-spot monitor.
